Invitation
Ladies and Gentlemen,
the International Fluid Power Conference (IFK) is one of the world’s most renowned specialist conferences for Fluid Power and Motion Control. This International Conference has become an established forum for manufacturers, users and scientists to present and discuss future developments, application and product innovations and also to share expertise and experience.
The Institute of Fluid Power at the TU Dresden and the Institute of Fluid Power Drives and Controls at the RWTH Aachen organise this conference alternatively every two years. We extend a very warm invitation to you to participate in the 6th IFK in Dresden.
A workshop organised on the first day shall present fundamentals. It is above all meant to provide researchers from universities with the opportunity and forum to present their research projects to a wide international community of scientists. Of course this workshop is organised for all participants of the IFK who are cordially invited to participate in the discussions. The second and third days of the conference will give a broad overview of the state of the art in fluid power both in terms of technology and practical applications. The official languages of the conference are German and English. The lectures will be simultaneously translated into English and German, respectively.
The relevance of fluid power in the design of machinery is enormous: during recent years, the annual increase of production volume has been more than 10 per cent and many new jobs have been created. Today it is comparable to the production volume of the chipping machine tool building.
But growth shall be in line with responsibility. The fluid power community commits itself greatly to the development of joint solutions to improve energy efficiency, energy recovery and environmental acceptance. New branch-specific system solutions are required.
This is reflected in the carefully chosen topics under the conference theme: ‚Fluid Power in Motion’.
Sharing know-how and experience is one of the most productive methods for manufacturers, users and scholars to find new ways and initiate new developments. The international character of this conference together with the pleasant atmosphere and environment of Dresden will provide rich opportunities for this exchange.
We would like to invite you cordially to the 6th IFK and are looking forward to you.
Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. S. Helduser
